Chronic Disease Management

Our nurse practitioner runs clinics for chronic illnesses, you should arrange an annual appointment on your birth month, these clinics include:

• Asthma/COPD
• Diabetes
• Heart Disease
• Hypertension

Other Services

• Minor Ailments - Please visit your local pharmacy for acute ailments.
• Child Health Assessments - please contact 01698 242610 if you require the services of the health visitor, or to confirm the dates and times of child health assessment clinics.
• Cervical Smears  - cervical smears are usually carried out by the practice nurse.
• Minor Surgery - procedures are usually carried out by a doctor.
• Contraception - a full range of contraception advice is provided by the doctor and the practice nurse.

Travel Vaccinations

Are no longer offered by NHS Lanarkshire. You should arrange an appointment with a Travel clinic, some pharmacies also offer this service for you convenience.

If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.

Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

• Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
• Insurance claim forms
• Passport signing
• Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
• Private sick notes
• Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
